NetGraphics™ Studio 1.0 includes NetGraphics™ Optimizer, a wizard driven web graphics optimization application as well as NetGraphics™ Gallery, a collection of over 2000 royalty-free photo-objects. NetGraphics™ Studio operates under Windows® 95 and Windows NT® 4.0. "With its intuitive and powerful wizard-driven graphics optimizer and its huge collection of royalty-free photo-objects, NetGraphics™ Studio is a must have for anyone serious about designing attractive but rapid Web pages," said David Hood, CEO of Hemera Technologies Inc. "Beginners and seasoned Web authors alike will appreciate NetGraphics™ Optimizer's ease-of-use and speed. NetGraphics™ Gallery's 2000 professional quality PhotoCraft images offer incredible value for the money".

NetGraphics Optimizer

NetGraphics™ Optimizer allows Web designers to transform and optimize any existing graphical images into a format compatible with the Internet. The images can then simply be dragged-and-dropped directly into many popular HTML editors. Optimizer guides the user through the entire process, and by prompting for information using familiar terms, the application makes the complicated Web graphics optimization process transparent. Optimizer even recommends the best format between GIF and JPEG based on a careful analysis of the image attributes! While beginners can follow the suggestions given by NetGraphics™ Optimizer and be ready to go in minutes, advanced users can choose to override these suggestions in order to apply specific settings.

With NetGraphics Optimizer, Web desdigners can:

  • Optimize any of the PhotoCraft™ images for their Web page;

  • Drag-and drop any of their existing graphic images (clipart, vector art, photos, etc.) for quick conversion and optimization;

  • Automatically generate transparent backgrounds for vector clipart, and vector graphics for use on their Web pages;

  • Retain transparencies on existing photographic objects; Resize images interactively on the screen;

  • Smooth out image edges by specifying the background that will be used (anti aliasing);

  • Interactively adjust the compression of the image in GIF or JPEG in order to maximize quality while minimizing file size;

  • Specify whether the image will appear gradually on their Web page (interlacing);

  • See the download time of the image based on different modem or network specifications;

  • View a download simulation to visually evaluate download time.

    NetGraphics Gallery

    NetGraphics Gallery is a revolutionary new classification and search engine that allows users to search for and find the images they need in a rapid and intuitive fashion.

    With NetGraphics Gallery, Web authors can:

  • Access over 2000 high-quality PhotoCrafts™ to illustrate their Web pages;

  • View a thumbnail of every PhotoCraft;

  • Search interactively, using plain English commands, by name, by attribute, by category, etc. As the user types keywords, the corresponding thumbnails appear on the screen;

  • Drag-and drop PhotoCrafts™ into NetGraphics™ Optimizer for easy conversion and optimization.

    About Hemera Photo-Objects?

    Photo-Objects can be thought of as the next generation in clipart. Whereas a clipart is a drawing used to represent an object, a Photo-Object is an actual photo of that object with a transparent background. This gives you an image quality that cannot be found in clipart. Why illustrate with a drawing when you can illustrate with the real thing?

    You may have seen collections of photos on CD-ROM but there is one problem: photos usually include more objects then we want, and they are always rectangular. When you look at advertisements or leaf through magazines, you will notice that professionals rarely use an entire photo. Instead, they cut out the part of the photo that interests them and use these different Photo-Objects™ to create their designs. With Photo-Objects, the work has already been done for you. The objects have already been professionally extracted, and NetGraphics™ Gallery uses a unique file format to preserve the photos as individual objects while at the same time keeping the file very small so that you can work with them on almost any computer. Photo-Objects are not just for professionals!

    You can use Photo-Objects on a 486/66 with 8 Mb of RAM! With this unique technology you can now replace standard clipart images with full-colour, high quality Photo-Objects that give your Web page a professional look.

    NetGraphics™ Studio comes with over 2000 Photo-Objects ready to be used. A certain number of these Photo-Objects were professionally created from other Photo-Objects by applying photographic transformations such as duotone, black and white, and drop shadows. All Photo-Objects were carefully chosen for their artistic worth and will prove valuable when you want to give a unique look to your Web page.

    Pricing and availability

    NetGraphics™ Studio is available for a suggested list price of $89.99 US.
