Hemera Technologies Inc. Rounds Out Executive Team With Graphics Industry Veteran

Hull, Canada - September 5, 2001 - Hemera Technologies Inc., a world leader in royalty-free digital image content, today announced that Arlen Bartsch has joined the company as Executive Vice President, Business Development. Mr. Bartsch is responsible for developing and managing Hemera's strategic partnerships globally with an emphasis on Hemera's burgeoning e-commerce initiatives.

Mr. Bartsch recently relocated to Ottawa from San Francisco, CA where he was Vice President, Business Development for Getty Images, Inc. Previously he was Executive Director, Worldwide Sales & Marketing for Corel Corporation from 1988 to 1996. During his tenure at Corel Mr. Bartsch guided the development of Corel's software distribution channels, strategic alliances, and built the company's marketing organization. In 1997 Mr. Bartsch co-founded i/us Corporation, an Internet graphics company that won numerous awards including Publish magazine's "Impact of the Year" award. In January 2000 Getty Images Inc. purchased i/us Corporation. Mr. Bartsch also worked for Macromedia Inc. where he helped their channel sales team develop an e-business strategy.

Mr. Bartsch holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Communications and Business from the University of Ottawa. He has held several advisory positions with the Canadian Advanced Technology Association (CATA), The Ottawa Centre for Research, Innovation (OCRI) and with the Montreal-based venture fund - Telsoft.
